Problem: GlobalTrader Updater generates an error message
"Downloading process complete with 1 error(s)! 0
file(s) have been downloaded", making successful login
impossible
Solution: (1) Exit GlobalTrader. (2) Press
Ctrl-Alt-Del to launch the Windows Task Manager. Click on
the "Processes" tab and find "GlobalTrader.exe":

(3) Select GlobalTrader.exe and click "End Process".
Confirm "Yes" at the task manager warning. (4) You should
now be able to successfully launch and update GlobalTrader.
Problem: Error message "You are not
registered on this server" appears when attempting to
login.
Solution: 1) Your demo account may have expired.
You can register for a new one at
www.forex.ch/demo. 2) Be sure you are logging
into the Demo Server for a demo account or the Live Server if
you have a live account. This can be checked from the
"Settings" button on your login prompt.

Port should always be 2080.
Problem: Connection needs to be made through a firewall.
Solution: Open port 2080
Problem: Connection needs to be made using a proxy
server.
Solution: Click on "Settings" and then check "Use
proxy server":

If authentication on the proxy is needed,
select SOCKS5. Otherwise, select SOCKS4.
Problem: Charts do not display.
Solution 1: This error is generally caused by the
java and/or security settings on your browser. There are
several possible solutions:
1) Internet Explorer: Make sure Java is enabled as
follows: Click on "Tools", "Internet Options", then click
on the "Advanced" tab. Under "Java (Sun)", make sure "Use
JRE..." is checked. You may have to restart your machine.
2) Internet Explorer: Make adjust your security
settings as follows: Click on "Tools", "Internet Options",
then click on the "Security" tab. Select "Default Level"
and Apply. If "Default Level" is not an available
selection, then your browser is already set to Default Level.
Proceed to solution 3 below:
3) If there above does not work, use FireFox instead of
Internet Explorer or Netscape to view the charts. You can
download FireFox free from: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/.
You can then browse to
www.forex.ch/forexcharts.htm
Solution 2: Try one of the alternative charting programs
from
www.forex.ch/fxcharts.htm.
Problem: Windows remain blank after logging in.
Solution: You are likely logging in during
non-trading hours (e.g., during the weekend) when we are
performing maintenance on our servers. Please login after
5PM EST on Sunday.
